Shadow's eyes opened meekly after being shut for hundreds of years. His mind blank and his body now weak, he sat up and looked around himself, as well as over himself. His old armor was ripped and tattered, and the clothes beneath were in terrible condition. What happened to me..? Why can't I remember...? He stood and saw a blade nearby, reaching over to pick it up, before walking down the halls of the Temple of Time. This is a grand place... But, why does it feel like I know it already...?
"Hello?" he'd call out as he continued through the corridors, eventually happening upon an old man dressed in white. "I am the Time Keeper," the old man said "And you must be Shadow... Yes, your story is just beginning, young man.. But, for now.. You should not be here, you belong below, in that world you once loved so. Return, now, to Maple World." would be all the old man said. There would be a blinding flash, forcing Shadow's eyes closed, and when he opened them again, he was in a forested area, surrounded by furry little creatures - the Halflings.
"I am Chief Tatamo." one would say, stepping toward the boy and giving a pat on his shoulder, "What is your name? Where do you come from?" The only reply would be "Shadow, I think... And, I'm not sure where I come from.." The chief of these creatures would give a hearty laugh before slapping the boy's back "Then, in that case, welcome to Leafre. You can call this home, if you so choose!"

she had since taken a liking to her mothers old clothes plus it gave her an excuse to infiltrate the black wings when she had to her hair bouncing behind her with a cloth tied over her eyes she had been receiving tips form Luminous on how to control her power "chief tatamo! I have noirs horn as you requested smiled the girl handing him a jet black horn "and I was also told to tell you the dragonrider regrets having fallen under the control of the black wings" said the girl turning her unseeing eyes in the direction she sensed a weird power "and who is our guest here?" asked Thorn her hands falling down to her dagger and katara incase he was an enemy. "this young man says his name is shadow other then that I know nothing of him." smiled the elder halfing, "I see................my name is Thorn if you need help with something let me know I am essentialy blades for hire." said Thorn as she accepted her reward for taking down dragonoir "if you need me again chief you know where to find me. and shadow if you need me i'll be in that building over there" says Thorn pointing to a building with a giant book on it.

He gave a quick 'hello' in response to the chief introducing him. He nodded at the woman's word, feeling rather foolish afterwards, knowing she would not see. Shortly after the encounter, Shadow would follow after Thorn, not knowing what else to do, looking around the building a moment.
"Uh.. Thorn? I was wondering if you could help me.. I don't remember anything about this world.." he'd say quietly, before respectfully placing his scythe by the doorway and stepping in further. "So.. I guess, I was hoping that you could maybe help me? A general direction I should go from here..?" he asked, before stopping and looking at Thorns face "And I was also wondering.. What happened to your eyes?" he questioned curiously. His eyes constantly shifted to the door, his scythe, feeling awkward with it so far away. His body kept screaming for him to return to it, though he remained there near Thorn, being as polite and respectful as he could.

she turned towards him smiling lightly "well nothing is wrong with them if that's what you mean but I have it over my eyes for my own reasons" said Thorn reaching into her pocket pulling out an apple holding it in her hand concentrating as she apple gets sliced into pieces by darkness. feeling the last of the darkness fade she reaches up to remove the cloth staring at him her red eye always seeming to shine eerily "and as for where you should go..........you might try a bit of research here it's what I do when I am given time before a mission but if you are looking for training I can take you to the masters of archery thievery piracy and bladed combat to see where you fit" said Thorn putting the pieces of the apple that was her example into a plants pot to help feed it, "so shall we go? or do you wish to walk around town for a little bit?" asked Thorn placing the cloth back over her eyes "and a bit more about my cloth well.............it makes my power over darkness more potent but it robs me of my sight". said Thorn smiling lightly sensing the boys every movement.

He listened intently to her, letting out a light gasp when she pulled out the apple and sliced it apart with darkness. He couldn't help but stare at that red eye when it was uncovered. He'd shake his head a bit after a moment, looking to the door, and more-so his scythe, before he'd nod his head. These masters sound like they could definitely help me out... More help than a book could offer me.
"Yeah, let's go see those masters.. They sound interesting enough, and I suppose if I want to do anything, I'll need to know how to defend myself, right?" he asked in a polite tone. He hummed to himself in thought after hearing about the cloth she had over her eyes, walking ahead to the door and picking up his scythe "You think they'll be able to teach me how to use this..?" he asked her, holding so the rusty blade was visible to her if she'd move the cloth over her eyes.

"even I could teach you the basics of combat but that appears to be a warriors type of weapon" said Thorn not even having to remove her cloth smiling lightly at his shock "just because I can't see right now doesn't mean I am oblivious I can sense things around me" said Thorn walking calmly towards the door the masters are hard to find if you don't know where you are going I will lead you there myself but be aware they may train you to the point of destruction are you willing to put up with that much training? not to mention the strain it would put on you're body and mental psyche" said Thorn remembering the final test that the thief master had given her as per the dark lord jin and lady syl's orders "tell me what you know of you're self." says Thorn standing outside the doorway waiting for Shadow to follow, "and beware monster run rampant outside this city the Halfling's have some sort of barrier protecting the town form monsters" says Thorn muttering to herself in thought debating on whether she should tell him about her past she remembered some of it but there was plenty she had still yet to remember.

"I'm ready for that.. I need to be able to hold my own in this world.. As for what I know about myself... I woke up in a white corridor above the clouds, a magnificent structure.. This scythe was near me, so I assumed it to be mine. I walked through the halls and eventually met an old man who called himself the Time Keeper. He told me that my name was Shadow, and that 'my story is just beginning.' He also mentioned that this is the world I once loved.. But I can't remember a thing about it.." he explained, following her through the village.
"So, what can you tell me about yourself..? What did they have you do, if you don't mind my asking." he let out politely, smiling to her. "Oh, and about the monsters.. I think I might be able to do at least something.. I might be weak, but maybe I was once strong. I mean, I did apparently carry this around with me, so I must have used it for something, right?"

"my past is complicated but.......I am an advanced bandit called a dualblade." says Thorn suddenly getting en idea "let's see now........I believe it was this way" Thorn exclaims walking to her right into the forests outside the village, a rustling sound coming from the bushes in front of her as a wyvern flies at her it's black scales shimmering in the sun, " ah a perfect way to show my skill!" exclaims Thorn quickly drawing her dagger and katara vanishing and quickly appearing behind the monster her blades held to her side sheathing them slowly as soon as she gets them close to being sheathed she slams them the rest of the way in as the sound of her weapons being fully sheathed sounds the wyvern drops to the ground vanishing slowly back to the darkness that made it "that was hardly a challenge." smirked Thorn suddenly turning towards shadow drawing her blades lunging forward, "DEFEND YOU'RE SELF!" calls Thorn wondering how much about combat the boy knew.

He followed along behind Thorn, stumbling back a bit and readying his scythe at the sight of the wyvern. When she appears behind the creature, he lowers his blade a bit, simply watching. "Wow, that was pretty cool." he let out with a hint of admiration, before Thorn turned to lunge at him. He held up scythe's handle to try and block a few attacks.
"W-wait, what are you doing?" he asked, a bit frantically, before hopping away from her, readying his scythe. He'd hold his weapon in a defensive posture, attempting to block the attacks that would come his way. After a few attacks from Thorn, he'd trip backward, falling onto his rear. "I, I can't defend myself... Not against you." he said quietly, looking up to her. "I know you're good.. Nice.. I can't raise my blade against someone like you.." he'd let out, holding his scythe close to his body.

Thorn sighed shaking her head, "well atleast you know how to deflect attacks I wasn't even using half of my power." says Thorn turning towards a nearby tree her hands moving in a blurred motion stabbig the tree faster then most could follow. "if I really wanted you're life I would have it that was merely a test." smiled Thorn "a test which you have barely passed and beware the warriors are not the type to take it easy on you thieves atleast have some leeway but warriors get none I will ask again do you want to train with them?" asked Thorn standing there with her hands on her hips her face turned towards shadow moving only the side of cloth over her red eye, "if you still wish to train then stand and follow me I will not blame you if you turn back now but then you would have a hard time learning to fight" said Thorn frowning lightly shaking her head remembering how much she hadn't wanted to train with lady syl but quickly learned she showed great aptitude for being an infiltration expert.

He grimaced a bit and looked away, picking himself off the ground. "I won't be a burden to anyone.. I'll learn to fight, no matter what." he said, smiling to her. "Maybe one day I'll be able to hold my own against you.." He motioned to Thorn to continue leading the way, looking around a bit. After a moment he shrugged and returned his attention to the woman. "Do you.. Feel anything weird? Like... Like something slithering under your scalp?" he asked, feeling the effects of what had happened to him a hundred years prior. He sighed a bit and shook his head "Ah, nevermind, I'm just sounding silly." he said quietly. Though despite what he said, he raised a hand to run over his head, that squirming feeling bothering him immensely. "So, um... What do you mean warrior get no leeway? Why are the masters harder on them?" he asked lightly.

"because being a warrior is more risky then any other type of profession thieves like me specialize in infiltration and sneaking around but we are not pushovers when it comes to combat" she felt what he was mentioning but she quickly changed the subject she always gave off them same aura as her father and Luminous since her and Luminous shared ties to the black mage one forced, one was natural but she didn't know how he would take her telling him who her parents were her closest friend was shocked at who her parents were it would be even worse if she wrote off a stranger she had promised to help. "come it's this way." said Thorn walking deeper into the forest climbing up a cliff quickly stopping in front of a tree stump with a big hole in the center like a doorway. "just beyond this are the masters prepare you're self." said Thorn walking into the tree.

He gave a slight nod and continued to walk, holding his scythe close to himself again "I see. Well, if that's what it will take. I'm not afraid of a little damage.. I'll pass this test.." he gave a soft chuckle after that and followed her up the cliff "And I'll be a protector... Yeah.." he said with a smirk and a soft, somewhat happy sigh "I'll defend Leafre, my home." he said, getting quite ahead of himself. When he reached the top of the cliff as well, he looked at the stump a moment. "So this is where the masters of combat are.. Seems very.... Odd." he let out, but gave a shrug and followed Thorn into the tree. He looked around as he simply waited for instruction from Thorn, unaware of what he should do, how he should talk or act.. Just generally not wanting to be a pain.

"it is good to see you again Thorn." said a woman wearing all black with a dark crystal in the shape of a star in her forehead with long silver hair and long pointed ears bordering elf like, "good to see you again as well master hellin." says Thorn standing there motionless as hellin does suddenly they hold up each others meso pouch laughing "you are just as fast as me now hm?" says hellin happily, "indeed I am but I don't eman to sound rude but I wasn't here for our usual games hellin I need to have this man behind me talk to Harmonia about an important matter." says Thorn keeping her tone and words respectfull. "I believe harmonia is meditating in the back right this way." says hellin as they toss each other their meso pouches back to their respective owners leading them into a chamber lit only by candle light with another woman sitting with her legs folded eyes closed and her hands forming a triangle over her chest as she meditates her long red hair flowing behind her. "harmonia we have guests who wish to speak with you." says hellin in a respectfully quiet voice not wishing to startle her to much. "I see and what purpose do they have with me?" asks harmonia in a battle hardened voice not even bothering to open her eyes or move.

Shadow sits and watches the two, quietly, only giving a slightly nervous wave when he's mentioned. He follows the two into the candle-lit chamber and steps a bit closer to the red-haired woman after the conversation is over. He lowers to his knees, bowing his head to the woman before speaking "I have come to train, Master Harmonia.. I wish to become stronger, to protect the people of the town of Leafre.. And maybe one day repay the kindness of Thorn however I can. But, I'm too weak.... I can't even raise my blade against another, let alone fight.. I'm a burden as is..." he says in a distraught tone. "So... Master Harmonia.. Would you please teach me to use this scythe?" he asks with as much respect as he can manage, holding up the rusted blade for emphasis, cringing a bit as he waited for any kind of answer.
