Character Rules
Classes
There are 5 jobs in Maplestory. If you’re going to make a creative character remember to fit it into one of these categories.
Warrior
Have very high HP and low MP. They also do a lot of damage but also miss often and most often have very few range attacks.
Mage
Mages/Magicians have low HP and high MP. Most MS Mages have a skill that transfers damage from HP into MP. With relatively high damage and low defence, they diversify into different specialities.
Bowmen
Bowmen are always ranged and have medium MP and HP. They also have a high accuracy.
Thief
Thieves are the fragile speedster of the Maple bunch. They have low defence and high speeds as well as attack.
Pirate
Pirates are the newest class and vary in their abilities. Gunslingers are more like thieves while brawlers are like warriors. Therefore go nuts when making a pirate (What can I say? One is a Magical Girl)
Types
There are 3 types of characters:
Original Character
This is a character based on an already existing non-special class in Maplestory. (All the ones that are creatable all the time)
Please make sure you have played, and are therefore familiar with, the class and while its ok to be creative please keep it close to what Nexon has.
Creative Character
If you are creating a creative character, you are creating a whole new class with its own. Go nuts! Remember to make them somewhat realistic and must fit into one of the existing jobs. Please put all the information about your character skills in the notes section.
Special Character
A special character is one that already has a storyline and personality. These include most NPCs and characters that . NPCs have to be the gender specified in the game, limited characters can be either but there can only be one (This excludes Mihle and Angelic Buster as those are gender locked). Of course there is a lot of room to expand and all the information must still be filled in. Be aware that we might judge harder.
If you don't know what job the NPC will be, it is up to you. But please do not do something outrageous like make Magnus a bowman.
If your character does not participate in battle, please ignore any sections pertaining to that. Instead write "non combatant" in the class section
